Looking for a solution that would clean up our server room’s various Pis, I came across the UCTRONICS rack-mountable solution for Raspberry Pi. It features four slots for Raspberry Pi 4. Other than moving all external ports/slots to the front of the rack, It also allows for stats to be displayed via a front-mounted OLED screen for each Pi. A safe shutdown is also included with power buttons for each Pi.
Putting together the rackmount was pretty easy. The one issue I had was the cooling fan on the board that mounts above the Pi. It wouldn’t allow for heatsinks to be attached to the Pi. I fixed this by mounting it on the top side of the board.
Some scripts are needed to get everything working correctly. I will be deploying this weekend. More updates to come in a project write up.
