Let me explain… I’ve been riding my Honda Navi for almost a year now and my neighborhood is a gated community. That’s one remote that goes in my pocket, annnnd I need to get in and out of my garage. That’s two remotes in my already full pockets. I’ve had it.

I thought of adding buttons to my handle bars. I found something that would do the job on Amazon, even had two buttons, just what I needed.

Once It came in I attached the buttons to my bars and routed the wires only to find out that they weren’t long enough to reach under the seat compartment.

I tried to kept the cable extensions color coded to the original wires. The top button (button 1) was two red wires, The bottom button (button 2) was white but I used green to extend them because that’s what I had. Once I extended the cables I ran them under the body panels and over to the area of the fuse box. Then I crimped some connectors on to make it easy to remove the remotes for battery changes and such.

These are the cable connectors I already had in stock. You only need the two pin connectors for each remote.

My remotes were easy to take apart. Just snapped them apart. Yours might have a single screw on the back. Be careful, I’d recommend buying extra remotes. Some are relatively cheap on Amazon.

I then found the points that the buttons use to connect to the PCB. Its easy as soldering two wires, one to each point. If you need some help finding the right points you can use a multi meter. I also added the male end of the connector to the remotes.

I snapped the case over the cables, hoping it holds the cables from being tugged on. Than attached them to the bike to test.
